Need a DD? There’s an app for that!
BeMyDD, the nation’s largest (and possibly only) world’s designated driver service, is growing in use in major cities across the U.S. The service allows folks that need someone to drive their car for them to easily access via an app or web site their own chauffeur, for one or multiple stops.
The service clearly has its roots in helping the inebriated get home safely and legally. Many a person has had one too many but then chosen to drive anyway due to the inconvenience factor of leaving one’s car and having to get it again in the morning. Uber and taxi services can get the person home, but what about getting the car in the morning? BeMyDD solves this predicament.
BeMyDD also promotes itself as a good option for those with medical appointments and other instances where driving is not recommended, and for any instance where taxi services are frequently used, such as transportation to the airport. The personal driver service cost $14-$19.50 per hour depending on location.
The PickUp Service, where a professional driver meets a person at a location and then drives them and their car home, includes a $25 pick up fee plus $3.45 per mile.
Drinking and driving remains an issue in the United States. Every 52 minutes, someone in the United States dies at the hands of a drunk driver, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. One in three traffic fatalities are in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, and nighttime is especially dangerous – more than three-fourths (76%) of all drunk-driving fatalities occur between 6 pm and 5:59 am, as published by TrafficSafetyMarketing.gov.
