Obtaining a Youth Operator Driver LicenseAnyone who is between 16 and 21 years of age will be issues a “Youth Operator” license after passing an approved driver’s education course. This license will expire on your 21st birthday, at which time you must apply for a full non-commercial license. Youth Operator Restrictions
Practice DrivingAn individual may practice driving of a non-commercial vehicle on New Hampshire roadways provided they have attained the age of 15 1/2, carry proof of age, and are accompanied on the front seat by a parent, legal guardian, or other licensed adult who is 25 years of age or older. An individual under the age of 18 is required to complete 20 hours of supervised practice driving, in addition to the 10 hours required by driver education. The 20 hours must be logged, and supervised by a parent or legal guardian (or if there is no parent or legal guardian, a licensed adult over the age of 25).
