Obtaining Your Nevada Instructional PermitNearly all NV drivers under 18 years of age need to complete an approved driver education course. You can enroll in these classes at age 15. The course must be within 30 miles of your home if offered or you may complete an online course. You may use a private course or one offered at many public schools. You can obtain your instructional (learner’s) permit at 15 years, 6 months of age. You will need to present proof of name and birth, as well as your social security number.
