(Excerpts from the Kansas Driver’s Manual) Where to ApplyWhen applying for an original, renewal or a current Kansas license, application must be made to a Driver’s License Examiner of the Division of Vehicles. Please remember—All stations are closed Mondays and many stations outside the large urban areas maintain schedules with varying days and hours. Please check your local areas for these hours. You may apply at any station regardless of your county of residence. Age RequirementsYou must be 16 years of age to hold a non-commercial class C licenses. You can apply for an instructional permit at 14 years of age. Required DocumentYou are required to present two pieces of documentation. The full list of required docs can be found in the $CSLINK or on page 6 of the Kansas Driver’s Manual. FeesThe cost for a non-commercial Class C license is $12.00 for four years or $18.00 for six years. What To ExpectYou will be required to pass a vision, written and road test to obtain your Kansas driver’s license. If you fail the test you may take it the following day. You have four (4) chances to pass the written and road test. If you fail four times, you are required to wait six (6) months before trying again.
